M4PNews|Chandigarh

Meena Soni, 64 percent Orthopaedically Disabled along with different other co-morbidities went through a Major Road Accident few years ago, Life was manageable since this Lockdown happen. Lockdown changed everything around her but she managed the whole home for 35 days, being 127 kg overweight with a disability. She was managing her home without the help of a “female Caregiver ” without whom her situation, being a handicap, could go worse. Now, she is suffering more because of the callousness of the Chandigarh Administration.

This is pertinent to mention here that She is not only fighting with her already existing diseases, but she is also a Frontline Warrior, as she is a bank employee as well and goes to the bank after every alternative day after doing all of her household chores. Ever since this Lockdown happened, she has been managing her life without a “female Caregiver”, and this made her life more miserable as her health conditions are going worse with every passing day.

She applied (with her valid Disability Certificate attached with the application) online to Chandigarh (U.T.) Administration, to issue a Curfew Movement Pass to her female Caregiver Ms. Sudevi w/o Suhe Lal, r/o Fainda Nizampur, Near Sector 48C Chandigarh, on 28-04-2020 but it has NOT been issued so far, hence causing me immense Health problems.

She sent several emails to Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh and to the Social Welfare Deptt, Chandigarh Admin yesterday morning too but NO response at all till now which is really frustrating and inhumane behavior with a 64% Orthopaedically Disabled (Divyang) Woman with multiple health problems like Diabetes, extremely Obesity and overweight nearly 127 Kgs.

She said that her conditions are falling under “Disability Inclusive Guidelines” issued by the Government of India in the wake of Covid-19. Yet, UT Administration is ignoring her innumerable requests.
