Haryana Minister Proposes Disneyland in NCR to Encourage Tourism and Employment. Haryana Tourism and Heritage Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma has asked Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to consider allocating suitable land for a Disneyland-type amusement park in the NCR region in the upcoming budget. He pointed out that the project would bring Haryana’s tourism sector to unprecedented levels, enhancing the state’s identity and providing mass employment opportunities for the youth.
Six proposals were made on Tuesday by Cooperation and Prisons Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma during a two-day pre-budget consultation with the Chief Minister. He stated that the Haryana government has been working towards preparing inclusive budgets in the last six years on the basis of recommendations received at the grassroots level, and all sections of society have been the gainer.
While discussing the tourist sector, Sharma said that Haryana already plans to develop the world’s biggest jungle safari in its NCR areas. He suggested that it would further develop tourism and open up heavy job opportunities to establish a Disneyland-kind of amusement park there.
Additionally, Sharma also advocated the use of advanced technology and quality materials in road construction to make them long lasting for at least 15 years. He proposed giving strict guidelines to contractor agencies to achieve world-class infrastructure standards.
Dr. Sharma also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, stating that Haryana has set an example for other states. He urged CM Nayab Singh Saini to allocate additional funds in the upcoming budget to achieve 100% computerization across all government departments, corporations, and public sector entities.
Apart from this, he insisted that the long-standing aspiration of the people for district status to Goohana be fulfilled by granting district status to it. This, he asserted, would unlock vast development potential for the NCR region. Dr. Sharma appreciated the Chief Minister for actively engaging with public representatives for two days and assuring them that their suggestions would be considered in the interest of the people.
