Following Amul’s recent price revision, Punjab’s state-run cooperative brand Verka, under Milkfed, has announced an increase of ₹2 per litre on several milk variants, effective May 14.
In an official notification issued on May 13, Verka informed distributors that the revised rates would apply across Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ludhiana, Ropar, Baddi, and Shimla.
- Standard milk (1 litre): ₹65 (up from ₹63)
- Full-fat milk (1 litre): ₹71 (up from ₹69)
- Half-litre packs: ₹1 increase per pouch
The cooperative clarified that existing stock will continue to carry the old printed price until exhausted.
This move comes shortly after Amul’s price hike, signaling broader cost pressures in the dairy sector.
📌 Related Development: Verka has also expanded its smart vending machine initiative, introducing “Guddi” as a companion to its earlier “Veera” machine, aimed at enhancing consumer access to Milkfed products.
