Despite policies, there is no zeal to implement the laws for Disable people
Even Doctors behaviour is unacceptable says PGI study in its book

A tight slap on the face of Punjab Government, its officials and people of society who are not only just ignoring the Differently-abled people but also are discouraging them to come out of their pain. The plight of Disables does not end with one pain being Handicapped of some body-part but their journey is way more created difficult by the people of Society of every area. This is what is written in the book “ADVOCATING THE CAUSE OF DISABILITY Through Research: Some Examples from North India” after doing different research studies in Chandigarh, Patiala, and Ludhiana.
Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Head and Professor of School of Public Health along with his team of research scholars took out this book wherein it is mentioned how and why the upper-said cities are so poor for Differently-abled people. They have also scored the different Government buildings that had been built but completely ignored this section of society.
CM City completely have ignored Disables
Be it Bus stand, Railway station or Central Library os Patiala- a CM City, popularly known as Royal city of Punjab, scored Very Poor when it came to facilitating Disables or differently-abled people. In this book, it is reported that disables are been treated pathetically by every section of society in Patiala especially in Government setups.
Chandigarh- too not supportive to disables
It is not alone Patiala or Ludhiana, Chandigarh too has been a major culprit in not providing and facilitating handicaps despite having all Laws and policies in place in papers. The Chandigarh Administration does have a nodal officer and commissioner for monitoring the disables but the human resource is lagging to implement the policies on the ground. When it comes to Government Hospitals, the doctors who are supposed to treat every patient, too being bias with Disables especially when a disable lady gets pregnant.
