Teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Have Guided Humanity for Centuries: CM Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji have been guiding humanity for centuries. Installing his statue is a resolve to imbibe his thoughts, values and the path shown by him in our hearts. Sant Ravidas Ji envisioned ‘Begampura’ as a city where there was no place for sorrow, injustice or discrimination. The state government is working with the same spirit of social harmony and upliftment of the poorest. By fostering the spirit of service to humanity, upliftment of the underprivileged and social harmony in our lives, we can pay true tribute to Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji.

The Chief Minister said this while addressing the statue installation ceremony of Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj at Jadaula village in Kaithal district on Thursday. Union Minister for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal and former Rajya Sabha MP and programme coordinator Ishwar Singh were also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced a grant of ₹31 lakh for the Sant Guru Ravidas Welfare Committee. Former MP Ishwar Singh requested that the biography of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji be included in the school curriculum. The Chief Minister directed the concerned department officials to take necessary action in this regard.

The Chief Minister said that saints and great spiritual personalities have always shown society the path of truth, service, harmony and brotherhood. The teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji, who is revered as the foremost among saints, continue to inspire society. We should follow his teachings and strengthen mutual love, harmony and social cohesion. He extended his greetings to all devotees present on the sacred occasion and paid homage to the saints and great personalities, saying that such events serve as a means of carrying forward our rich spiritual and cultural traditions.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that in accordance with the ideals of Guru Ravidas Ji, ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person and promoting the welfare of society are among the priorities of his government. He said that to take the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji to the masses and promote the spirit of social harmony, a grand Guru Ravidas Dham is being constructed over approximately 5 acres of land at Umri in Kurukshetra at a cost of ₹124 crore.
