Khalistani Terrorist Gurpatwant Pannu Threatens Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the chief of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and a Khalistani terrorist, has threatened Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. In a video released on Thursday, Pannu threatened that those who go against his movement could face a fate similar to that of former Chief Minister Beant Singh.
Pannun further took responsibility for writing pro-Khalistan slogans at Faridkot Railway Station and Nehru Stadium, which is the venue where Bhagwant Mann will hoist the national flag on Republic Day, January 26. He called upon Sikh youths not to carry bombs or hold the Indian flag but to wave only the Khalistan flag. He also claimed that with Donald Trump’s return to power in the United States, major changes are in the offing, and he claimed that Punjab is not a part of India.
Pannu called upon the youth and farmers of Punjab, currently protesting at the Punjab-Haryana border, to hoist Khalistan flags at DC offices in districts like Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Jalandhar. According to him, these actions would send a direct message to Donald Trump. Additionally, he announced plans to hoist Khalistan flags at embassies in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, the UK, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand.
In his video, Pannu presented clips of Trump’s inauguration ceremony and claimed that he was there. Moreover, he alleged that the purpose of his coming to the event was to highlight the differences in religion and politics between Sikhs and the Indian government.
Donald Trump swore in as President of the United States on January 20. Pannu, who produced two videos about attending the event, can be seen roving around Capitol Hill as just another attendee. An associate filmed his footage while his associate wandered the halls. Pannun sported a coat with a visible Khalistan emblem on it.
In another video, Pannu appeared near the stage where Trump and his wife Melania stood. While the crowd chanted “USA-USA,” Pannun briefly shouted “Khalistan Zindabad” twice before going silent amidst the noise. Pannu claimed he was invited by Trump’s faction for the ceremony. However, international media reports suggested that he had purchased a ticket to attend.
Declared a Terrorist in 2020
The Indian government declared Pannu a terrorist on July 1, 2020, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). SFJ, Pannu’s organization, was banned in 2019 for supporting separatism and extremist ideology under the guise of a referendum for Sikhs. Recently, in 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs extended the ban on SFJ for another five years, citing its activities promoting separatism in Punjab.
In 2020, more than 40 websites and YouTube channels linked to SFJ were banned for spreading separatist propaganda and inciting Punjabi Sikh youth to take up arms.
