Bulldozers to Tear Down Illegal Encroachment in Gohana, Administration Ready to Act. The administration will initiate tough action against illegal encroachments in a few villages of Gohana subdivision, Sonipat. Gohana SDM Anjali Shrotriya has decided to initiate the drive within three days, as ordered by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Preparations have been made to raze encroachments in 36 locations.
A meeting of officers, chaired by SDM Anjali Shrotriya, charted the course for the operation. For successful execution, five duty magistrates have been appointed. The SDM has directed officials to complete removal of all unauthorized encroachments by March 8 and submit a report. She clarified that the action is mandatory as per court orders and no negligence would be tolerated.
The government has requested villagers to cooperate with the eviction process. Tugh measures will be utilized to evict encroachment over government and panchayat lands.
Duty Magistrates Appointed
To make the operation efficient, the government has appointed Nayab Tehsildar Abhimanyu, Nayab Tehsildar Ashok Kumar, BDPO Parmjeet, SDO Anil Khatri, and SDO Jitendra Khokhar as duty magistrates.
Villages Where Action Will Be Taken
Encroachments would be removed from 36 locations, such as Garhi Sarai Namdar Khan, Barota, Siwana, Kathura, Kailana Khas, Shamdi Sisan, Shamdi Lohchab, Shamdi, Rabhda, Mahra, Thaska, Mirzapur Kheri, Moi Hudda, Madina, Nooran Khera, Gangana, Gharwal, Rindhana, Baroda, Kasandi, Chirana, Bhanderi, Jasrana, and Chhichhrana.
Administration Ready for Legal Action
The government has stated that any attempt to impede the process will be dealt with legally. The drive will be carried out with complete transparency and impartiality to make the best use of government land.
Panic Among Encroachers
The decision to raze encroachments in 36 locations has caused panic among residents, especially those who have built houses on encroached land. Residents have become apprehensive in the majority of villages, and resistance is anticipated.
But the administration is prepared to carry out the operation in top gear. Bulldozers will be deployed to different villages to raze illegal structures. Besides duty magistrate, a massive police contingent will accompany the places to prevent any disruptions. Action will be taken against whoever attempts to cause any disruptions.
