This is shocking for Advanced Pediatric Centre’s Doctors, as child was in NON-COVID WARD. 54 Staff with Doctors go quarantined
This is shocking for the doctors especially surgeons who were ready to take this Ludhiana based 6-Month-old child to Operation Theatre for Congenital Heart Surgery. Doctors just followed the protocol of doing the COVID test on Child, before surgery and got shocked when the child found positive for nCov.
The child got admitted here in PGI APC for last 10 days, She has been asymptomatic and was kept in the NON-COVID ward. As per the Senior Consultant of APC, there have been more than 54 Doctors including para-medics who have visited the same ward and have seen the child as a regular checkup routine.
Now, the whole 4th C block of Advanced Pediatric Centre go quarantined, patients along with para-medics all have been shifted to the quarantined facility. This includes 4 patients, 36 para-medics, 18 doctors. The Whole PGIMER staff is in shock mode and taking out ways to get out of this danger zone. As per Senior Doctor of PGI, ” If this kind of cases keep on coming, then APC, which is already suffering staff shortage, how will we treat patients in days to come.”
