Modi’s leadership gave India a new global identity: Haryana CM Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said that India has witnessed transformational changes across sectors under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the country has gained a new global identity during the Prime Minister’s tenure.

Addressing a press conference, Saini said that while every Prime Minister had worked with his own vision and intent, Modi’s leadership had elevated India’s standing on the world stage. He also noted that Modi had created a record by becoming the longest serving Prime Minister in the country’s history.

Highlighting India’s growing global influence, Saini said the country’s voice was being heard strongly at international forums such as the G20, BRICS and the United Nations, where India was playing a decisive role in shaping global discussions.

The Chief Minister said the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir had fulfilled the long cherished vision of a united India stretching from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said the world had witnessed India’s indigenous technological and defence capabilities, while Operation Mahadev ensured that those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack were brought to justice.

Saini said the Centre’s firm policies had accelerated progress towards the goal of a Naxal free India and strengthened internal security through sustained action against terrorism. He also cited key initiatives and decisions, including the surgical strikes, air strikes, One Rank One Pension, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and the Citizenship Amendment Act, as major achievements of the Modi government.

Emphasising India’s advances in science and technology, the Chief Minister said successful missions such as Chandrayaan 3 and Aditya L1, along with preparations for the Gaganyaan mission, reflected the country’s growing scientific capabilities and technological confidence.

On the economic front, Saini said India had progressed significantly over the past decade. He noted that the country, which ranked as the world’s 11th largest economy in 2014, was now moving towards becoming the fourth largest economy. Despite challenges such as the Covid pandemic, global conflicts, economic slowdown and supply chain disruptions, India had remained the fastest growing major economy, he said.

The Chief Minister described the digital revolution as one of the biggest achievements of the Modi government’s 12 years in office. He said India had emerged as a global leader in digital payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), accounting for nearly 56 per cent of the world’s digital transactions. He added that more than Rs 51 lakh crore had been transferred directly to beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer system, ensuring transparency and efficiency in welfare delivery.
