Khalsa College Boxing Centre wins GNDU inter college title for record 15th year

The Khalsa College Boxing Centre has clinched the Guru Nanak Dev University inter college boxing championship for a record 15th consecutive year, reaffirming its dominance in university level boxing. The competition was held recently at Khalsa College Senior Secondary School.

The college boxers delivered an impressive performance across weight categories. Rajbir Sharma secured a gold medal in the 50 kg category, while Avtar Singh claimed silver in the 55 kg event. Bhupinder Singh won gold in the 60 kg category, and Yuvraj Abhay Pratap Singh Jaiswal earned bronze in the 65 kg division.

Navroop Singh bagged gold in the 70 kg category, followed by Harsit Singh in the 75 kg division and Sukhbir Singh in the 80 kg event. Further strengthening the medal tally, Sehajpreet Singh won gold in the 85 kg category, Rajandeep Singh topped the 90 kg event, and Rajanpreet Singh finished first in the 90 plus kg category.

Amarjit Sharma in the 55 kg category and Inderjit Singh in the 65 kg division also captured gold medals, taking the total count to a record 10 golds for the institution.

The college has maintained a strong legacy in the championship. In the 2011 and 2012 editions as well, its boxers displayed exceptional skill, winning 11 gold medals across 11 weight categories.

Khalsa College Governing Council honorary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Principal Atam Singh Randhawa, and Sports Head Daljit Singh congratulated the team for the achievement and praised the players for continuing the institution’s winning tradition.
