CM Saini Honours PM SHRI and Model Sanskriti Schools on Independence Day

In line with Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and the spirit of the National Education Policy-2020, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini honoured the three best PM SHRI schools and three best Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools of the state during the Independence Day celebrations for their contribution towards promoting quality education in Haryana.

PM SHRI GSSS Gangwa, Hisar was awarded first position, PM SHRI GSSS Chakkarpur, Gurugram secured the second position, and PM SHRI GSSS Palhawas, Rewari received the award for the third-best PM SHRI school. Among the Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools, GMSSSS Shahzadpur, Ambala received the first prize, GMSSSS Babain, Kurukshetra secured the second position, and GMSSSS Hansi received the third prize for the best Model Sanskriti School. The District Education Officers and Block Education Officers of the respective districts were also honoured on the occasion.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the objective of the PM SHRI scheme is to strengthen existing government schools and develop them as exemplary schools, so that students can access quality education along with skills, creative thinking and better learning opportunities. He said that at present, 251 PM SHRI schools and 218 Senior Secondary Model Sanskriti Schools in Haryana are playing an important role in providing quality education to students and preparing them to meet the challenges of the future.

The Chief Minister said that the best schools were selected through a merit-based process based on prescribed parameters. The schools were evaluated on parameters including infrastructure, teaching methodology, learning outcomes, student performance, teacher capacity, co-curricular activities and school management. The final assessment was carried out using objective indicators prescribed for these parameters.
