Cloudburst in Samej of Rampur in Himachal made villagers’s life upside down. There are 36 missing in Samej Cloudburst of Rampur Himachal. 36 villagers are expected to be buried in debris caused after cloudburst.

The Indian Army along with teams from NDRF, SDRF, Home Guard and CISF are actively engaged in rescue as well as restoration operations following the cloudburst that shook Samej in Rampur on Thursday. The Army has settled temporary bridges in an order to reconnect secluded areas and fasten ongoing rescue operations.

Home Guard Commandant RP Nepta told media, that rescue operations initiated at 7 am in Samej. He mentioned that five JCBs are active on place and various teams are tirelessly working to recover as many bodies as possible.

“It’s the fourth day of operations. Following yesterday’s review meeting, we are now working at full capacity. We have five JCBs on site and task forces assigned specific roles. The search began at 7 am today, and we are optimistic about recovering more bodies. Local residents have indicated possible locations where bodies might be found, and we are focusing our search efforts there. We are also constructing a bridge,” Nepta said.

He added that teams from the NDRF, CISF, Army, and Home Guard are all present at the scene. The hope is to recover the maximum number of bodies today. Three bodies have been recovered so far, but they remain unidentified. Efforts are also underway to provide relief to affected residents, with 36 people still reported missing.

Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced on Saturday that approximately 50 people are feared dead in the affected areas. The official death toll will be confirmed once rescue operations are completed. Singh emphasized that the state government’s top priority is to recover the bodies and restore connectivity in the impacted regions as quickly as possible.
