WHO IS RESPONSIBLE—-> “COVIDIOTS”
This strain is taking mental toll on Parents of Young Children
A tiny tired voice uttering out of Oxygen Mask, “Maa” and Mother sitting next to the ailing child trying her hard to soothe him who is admitted in PGI Pediatric Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with COVID. When asked the mother on phone, “Who else than the Child is COVID Positive in your family ?” She replied, “Iske Papa hain.” When asked how did they contract virus, She broke out in tears and said, ” Didi main toh inhe kehti thee, Mask pehan liya karo, ye nahi Maante the, kehte the sab politicians ka drama hai, Corona Vorona kuch nahi hai. Bete ko bhi Mask nahi pehanne dete the. Ab khud toh ghar pe hain, main or mera bachcha yahan hai. Saans nahi le paa raha mera bachcha”. (Keeping Mother and Child anonymity maintained here). This take of a mother left me MUM and I as Journalist, could not afford to ask her any further questions.
In Mere Last 10 days, kids started appearing in Pediatric Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (PNICU) suffering COVID and striving hard for a Breath. Calling “CORONA IS NOTHING” and If this news does not kill your heart inside then there could be nothing in this world that can change you. PGIMER, Chandigarh sharing the maximum load of all neighboring states on itself, shares this data with us where it is mentioned that there are 8-12 kids that are admitted in PGI PNICU with COVID and are either on High-grade Oxygen or Ventilator in merely period of Last 10 days.
This strain is certainly taking a heavy mental toll on Parents as their small hearts are now started coming into the trap of COVID and this is not acceptable to any civil society who is running and earning day and night for whom but their kids. If this kind of COVIDIOTS are there in your family and GOD FORBID if your child is one who will be going to pay the price of someone’s stupidity, then would you be keeping your child with that COVIDIOT?
Asking PGIMER on the kids treatment line and recovery rate, PGI Additional Medical Superintendent Prof Ashok Kumar says that children who require high oxygen or ventilation are given steroids, remdesivir. Tocilizumab and Immunoglobulin accordingly with dose adjustments and are considered as critically ill kids based on the clinical picture and inflammatory markers. Antibiotics are also given to cover for secondary bacterial infections. Other life-saving support therapies are also initiated based on clinical needs. The recovery in children is very good if there are no underlying co-morbidities like heart disease, kidney disease, etc.
