Solar Fencing to Be Installed in Wildlife Areas Under Kalka Assembly

Solar Fencing to Be Installed in Wildlife Areas Under Kalka Assembly. On the third day of the Haryana Assembly session, various MLAs raised questions related to their constituencies during Question Hour. In this sequence, Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma brought up the issue of crop damage caused by wild animals, such as blue bull, in areas under the Kalka Assembly constituency. She demanded the provision of solar fencing to protect crops and keep wildlife away from these regions.

During the session, Shakti Rani Sharma questioned the Agriculture Minister about whether solar fencing could be used to safeguard crops from stray animals, ensuring both crop protection and the safety of wild animals. Responding to this, Minister Shyam Singh Rana stated that solar fencing is a feasible solution and is already being used by some farmers to protect horticultural crops.

In a supplementary question, Shakti Rani Sharma emphasized that her constituency is surrounded by forests, leading to frequent crop damage by wild animals like nilgai. She inquired about the timeline for installing solar fencing to prevent such losses while ensuring no harm to the animals.

Replying to this, Minister Shyam Singh Rana informed the House that the government provides a 50% subsidy on solar fencing. Farmers can purchase the fencing from any store and claim the subsidy. He further stated that the subsidy is applicable to horticultural crops, and the government is actively encouraging farmers to install solar fencing.
