The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has launched Mission Chardikala to rehabilitate families affected by the recent floods. More than a relief programme, it has become a symbol of hope, delivering support quickly and transparently. So far, assistance has reached 1,143 villages, with 35 crore directly transferred into bank accounts without intermediaries or delays.
Within just two days of the third phase, 35 crore were released, followed by 17 crore on the fourth day. Relief camps were organised at nearly 70 locations across Amritsar, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Mansa, Sangrur and SBS Nagar, reflecting the government’s commitment to stand firmly with affected families.
In Ferozepur, MLAs Ranbir Singh Bhullar, Rajneesh Dahiya, Naresh Kataria and Fauja Singh Sarari distributed 16.68 crore to 3,000 farmers. MLA Gurdeep Singh Randhawa provided 3.71 crore to 935 families in Dera Baba Nanak, while former minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal gave 5.86 crore to 1,330 farmers in Ajnala. At Sri Anandpur Sahib, cabinet minister Harjot Singh Bains distributed 2.26 crore as crop relief in village Jindwari. In Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala, residents of Bhaini Kadar Bakhsh and Passan Kadim villages received approval letters worth 40 lakh. In Dharmkot, MLA Davinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhose handed over 5.83 crore worth of approval letters to 1,350 beneficiaries. Every MLA and every minister is on the ground—that’s what sets the Aam Aadmi Party apart.
In Lopoke, Amritsar, SDM Sanjeev Sharma distributed approval letters worth 26 lakh to families in villages Toot, Motla, Jai Ram Kot, and Bhagoopur Bet. In Talwandi Sabo and Maur, Chief Whip Prof. Baljinder Kaur and MLA Sukhbir Singh Maisarkhana provided relief to 380 flood-affected people. Whether small villages or big towns—no one has been forgotten.
Punjab has also become the first state in India to offer the highest compensation to flood victims: Corporate groups have joined hands too Larsen & Toubro contributed 5 crore, while Union Bank donated 2 crore.
