Punjab Travel Agent Kidnapped, Assaulted Over Visa Dispute. Ludhiana police have launched an investigation after a travel agent was allegedly abducted and assaulted by a woman and her aides over a visa dispute.
The incident occurred after the woman’s nephew, for whom the agent had arranged a Russian visa, returned to India under unclear circumstances.
According to the police, Lovinder Singh, a travel agent, facilitated a Russian visa for Amritpal Singh, the nephew of Jasveer Kaur. He charged Rs 3 lakh for the visa and travel arrangements.
However, upon reaching a Russian airport, Amritpal was reportedly sent back, leading his family to demand a refund. While Lovinder Singh claimed that Amritpal returned voluntarily, the latter insisted that he was deported.
Jasveer Kaur, along with her accomplices—identified as Raju, Bunty, Kamaljit Kaur, Meva Singh, and Gurbaz Singh—allegedly conspired to recover the money. Under the pretext of discussing another visa application, they lured Lovinder Singh to a meeting near the Verka Milk Plant on Ferozepur Road.
Upon his arrival, they forcibly abducted him, took him to Mullanpur, and assaulted him while demanding a refund. The police have registered a case and are conducting raids to apprehend the accused.
