Punjab Government Pushes Reforms: AI-Driven Road Survey Saves ₹383 Cr, Udyog Kranti Launched, Free PCS Coaching Announced
In a series of initiatives aimed at governance reforms, infrastructure efficiency, and youth empowerment, the Punjab Government has announced significant measures across multiple sectors.
A government survey has revealed that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to assess road conditions has resulted in savings of ₹383 crore. By combining videography of certain road stretches with AI analysis, authorities identified that several link roads initially proposed for repair were not in need of immediate work. Of the 3,369 link roads originally shortlisted at an estimated cost of ₹1,557.58 crore, only 2,526 were found to require repairs, significantly reducing expenditure.
In another development, the state has launched a special series of events under the “Udyog Kranti” initiative titled Rising Punjab – Suggestions to Solution. Spearheaded by Industries Minister Sanjeev Arora, the programme is aimed at spreading awareness about the new industrial policy while fostering direct engagement between the government and industry leaders to address challenges and frame solutions.
Meanwhile, in the education sector, Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan announced a collaboration with Raj Malhotra of IAS Study Group to provide free coaching for PCS (Executive) aspirants. The coaching will be offered for 45 days, with the objective of equipping youth with better preparation resources and increasing accessibility to competitive exams.
Together, these measures reflect the state government’s focus on cutting unnecessary expenditure through technology, boosting industrial growth through dialogue-driven initiatives, and nurturing young talent through free educational support.
