KAP Sinha Takes Charge as Punjab’s 43rd Chief Secretary. Punjab cadre IAS officer KAP Sinha formally assumed charge as the 43rd Chief Secretary of Punjab on Thursday at the state civil secretariat. He took over in the presence of a few senior officials. In addition to the new job, he will also officiate as Principal Secretary, General Administration and Vigilance. KAP Sinha assumes office as Punjab’s 43rd Chief Secretary.

Sinha thanked the people of Punjab warmly while speaking, saying he feels the respect he has received so far during his stint in various departments. He promised that citizen-centric services would be facilitated in a transparent manner and would be delivered in an efficient way to the citizens. Sinha also claimed that the Bhagwant Mann government would focus on overall development and told the people that welfare schemes would be taken up vigorously.

Tejveer Singh, president of IAS Officers’ Association and others, hails the leadership provided by Sinha and narrated pleasant experiences during their work tenure with him. The team asserted that all of them were dedicated toward achieving the objective of continued efforts toward the prosperity and development of Punjab.

Sinha, an IAS officer of the Punjab cadre belonging to the 1996 batch, held the position of Special Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Revenue). Sinha has had a career marked by some key positions in departments like Finance, Taxation, Food and Civil Supplies, Higher Education, and Parliamentary Affairs. He also has experience working in other crucial areas of the Union Government in areas relating to External Affairs, Industries and Commerce, and Atomic Energy. He is also trained in field postings as Deputy Commissioner of Bathinda and Gurdaspur besides representing India at various national and international conferences.
