Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on his visit to Bhawanigarh met Martyred SSF Jawan Harshveer’s Singh family, CM Mann also opened the Bhawanigarh Sub-Division Complex’s new building. On this visit, he also met Harshveer’s family, a Road Safety Force (SSF) officer who lost his life in an accident on duty. The Chief Minister visited the family himself and handed over a cheque of ₹1 crore financial assistance on top of the ₹1 crore given by the bank
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reacted to Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu’s visit to the Chief Minister’s house in Chandigarh. Addressing the media in Bhawanigarh, Mann said, “Come whenever you want, but people will not let you enter the CM House again.” He made it clear that whether it’s extortion or a scam, the government acts as per the law, not according to party lines.
Mann also stated that Bittu keeps on attempting to come through various gates, but he should understand that the people will not let him back into the house. “He has stayed in that house once, and now he wants to come back. But that house does not belong to me; it belongs to 2.5-3 crore Punjabis. The public decides who comes in,” he continued.
On-Duty Accident Resulted in SSF Personnel’s Demise
A month back, an accident took place near Bald Kanchian in Bhawanigarh, where an SSF vehicle was involved in a collision. SSF personnel Harshveer Singh died from his injuries during the course of treatment, and another injured officer, Mandeep Singh, was hospitalized. The Punjab government paid ₹1 crore as compensation, and HDFC Bank also offered ₹1 crore under life insurance cover.
Mann Adopts Kejriwal’s Strategy Post Delhi Polls
After the Delhi Assembly polls, CM Bhagwant Mann has turned extremely active. He has been taking incessant meetings with officials, visiting different districts, and unveiling development projects. After going to Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Mansa, he was in Sangrur today. His emphasis lies in direct people’s interaction.
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had directed his party’s MLAs and ministers to look beyond the results of the Delhi election and get closer to the people, regaining their confidence once again.
